Research

To support an in-depth analysis of music curation and connected issues, Sounds Now is collaborating with two higher education institutions as associated partners. Directions explored include:

  • A reflection on the importance of curating practices in defining who is heard in today’s music world
  • The state of music curation in European festivals and music production houses today
  • A comparison of practices and trends in this field with those in other performing and visual arts

In order to provide a picture of music curating practices, this section will also include reflections on curation and inclusion from the wider contemporary music and sound art scenes.
