From Issue 44 of ONCURATING:
In his article “A Small Act of Curation”, Professor George E. Lewis explores how curatorial outcomes reflect the community of thought and practice in which curators and their constituencies are embedded. He questions whether the outcomes of new music curation processes implicitly celebrate the European sonic diaspora, and posits that while the pursuit of greater numerical representation is desirable, this alone is unlikely to bring full subjecthood to women composers or composers of color in the long run.
