Barcelona City Council is promoting the first International Days on Cultural Rights – CULTUROPOLIS, which is being co-organised with Culture Action Europe. Addressing the themes of cultural work & sustainability, diversities, participation & communities, and digital environments, CULTUROPOLIS is a meeting space for reflecting on and discussing cultural rights, for thinking about how they are defined and for imagining and finding mechanisms that promote and guarantee that they are respected.

Interesting projects in attendance include SHIFT – Shared Initiatives for Training, MEMEX – MEMories and EXperiences for inclusive Digital Storytelling, En Palabras (relatos migrantes), Play it Loud! and many more.

CULTUROPOLIS will be held on Barcelona’s Avinguda del Paral·lel. The former Sala Barts, now called Casa de la Música Paral·lel 62, and El Molino, will be the two venues used for the conference activities. On Saturday 19 November, the CULTUROPOLIS programme will take to the streets of Barcelona to celebrate and exercise cultural rights with all of the city’s citizens.
