A public discussion around what it means to have artistic freedom to move, at the New Music Conference 2022
Based on Sounds Now’s Freedom to Move project with Sofia Jernberg.
The New Music Conference (NMC) is held every year during November Music festival in ‘s-Hertogenbosh, Netherlands. In 2022, Sounds Now was invited to collaborate with NMC, and proposed a Long Table format to discuss questions raised by the Freedom to Move project. In this project, 5 Sounds Now festivals selected local singers with the marvellous vocalist Sofia Jernberg connecting and working with each group. In each of the 5 cities, Sofia held workshops with the selected vocalists, exploring new pathways of improvisation and preparing a public performance.
